Doral Arrowwood Celebrates Independence Day with a Botanical Work of Art
Rye Brook, NY, June 28, 2001: Doral Arrowwood Conference Resort has created a living salute to the United States flag by planting a 20'x 40' replica of the stars and stripes made out of flowers. The flag is composed of over 5,700 red and white Begonias and blue Ageratums and is situated on the side of a beautifully landscaped knoll alongside Arrowwood's main driveway - visible to airplanes flying in and out of Westchester County Airport as well as visitors to the conference center and resort.
Doral Arrowwood's General Manager Joe Crimmins states, "Creating this flag is our way of commemorating the 225th birthday of our great nation. As this is the most recognizable symbol of our Nation's identity and being that July 4th our largest national holiday, it is the perfect time to unveil our magnificent floral portrayal of "Old Glory." Mr. Crimmins added, "This special project is the latest feature to be added to Arrowwood's extraordinary landscape design."
Located on 114 acres in Westchester County, Doral Arrowwood is a 374-room conference resort which is nationally recognized for offering state-of-the-art meeting facilities, a full range of audio/visual equipment including web and video conferencing, professional meeting planners, conference services staff and on-site technicians.
